If our physical 3D universe is two layers, i.e. space and counter space, what fabric connects our 3D universe to higher dimensions assuming they exist? Should be vague physical signs of higher dimensions.
Plane of inertia null points? example: black holes, all magnetic null points…galaxy, solar system, Earth, atoms…

Just because one can not prove in physical terms that a particular layer exists does not mean the layer or membrane does not exist. Lots of examples of this in religions, science, medicine, etc.
