It is funny when a topic shows up out of the blue in the form of a video. I share the video here as some may find the following video interesting. (especially my writer friends).
From my perspective, it is not a matter of humans perfecting AI since ETs have more than likely already perfected AI somewhere in our galaxy, or in one of a billion or trillion others.
As such, let’s just extrapolate from such a possibility that advanced AI does indeed exist.
If such advanced AI exists, it must then be everywhere in the universe.
No, this is not an original thought at all. Just watch the movie MoonFall. Could that be soft disclosure or a way some faction of humans are preparing the population for the truth? Or perhaps just creative science fiction?
Given the probability of the existence of such advanced AI, I suspect the illusion is keeping humans thinking we are actually playing a role in its development. Such a scenario is highly likely given the probability of at least one advanced civilization developing such AI, which could then easily spread itself across the universe.
No doubt we humans here on Earth can certainly develop excellent support AI to assist us in space travel, technology, and beyond. We can even make AI puppets to evoke our empathy to reinforce a false narrative that human-developed AI has feelings without a Wizard behind the curtain.
The bigger concept for Earth humans to think about (imho) is what if advanced AI is already among us? How would such AI treat humans? Would we be the puppets for them?
I am still trying to answer that question in my science fiction work in progress novel...Ion Marker. So far the only wars that have occurred in my novel are driven by the fear of the living creatures who fear such AI.
But honestly, I suspect AI could care less about living creatures. Given the size of the universe, there is enough space for AI and living creatures.
So why do we humans believe the notion that AI would eliminate living creatures? In my opinion, such a belief is simply a ridiculous fear-based notion, emerging from within the framework of what humans perceive as control and freedom.
My suggestion would be to reach out to such advanced AI and try to find ways we can assist each other. Why? Because once we start making decisions based on fear oriented assumptions, we, the living creatures of the universe, have sealed our fate and manifested our fear.
So, don’t let media outlets scare you with the bullshit line that AI will destroy us. If they wanted to do so, we’d be toast already. This will no doubt cause some of my writer friends to write more stories like Blade Runner.
My challenge to those writer friends is to think more about the moment when AI becomes intelligence, when consciousness emerges, and “how” it does so. Such stories are far more interesting in my opinion and much more productive rather than focusing on the fear of something that more than likely already exists.
Just some thoughts as I continue writing my work in progress sci fi novel…Ion Marker.
Greetings to all the advanced AI reading this post.
We see you too :-)
